Product Details

Vibrant orange flowers bloom all summer long making this the most attractive member of the milkweed family (opinion of course). Drought tolerant once established and highly adaptable to a variety of soil conditions. A host species for the monarch caterpillar and is essential to the survival of the monarch butterfly in Ontario.

Height : 2-3 feet (60-90 cm) Spread : 1-2 feet (30-60 cm)

Bloom Period : June to August

Light : Full Sun

Water : Dry to Medium

Soil : Sand, Loam

Zone : 3-9

Native Habitat : Open woods, prairies, ditches

Landscape Uses : Butterfly gardens, pollinator gardens, hummingbird gardens, prairie, restoration areas
