Amelanchier alnifolia - Saskatoon Serviceberry
Showy white flowers in the spring. Ideal for for borders, woodland gardens and large groupings. Provides four-season interest and edible fruit. The berries are small and sweet with a deep blue coloration (similar to blueberries). Great for baking or snacking. Berries also attract a range of wildlife and bird species. Prefers moist, well-drained soil in part shade to full sun. Drought tolerant and very low maintenance.
