Unlike other aster species the swamp aster enjoys soil with a higher moisture content. Has a preference for moist, well-drained soil and it can handle very wet conditions. On the flipside it is capable of success in medium-dry conditions with a little extra shade. Displays gentle, daisy-like blooms in the fall.
