Populus tremuloides - Trembling Aspen
Product Details
Known as a pioneer tree for being the first deciduous tree to populate recently disturbed soil. Has an extremely fast growth rate. Prefers soil with a moist composition.
The slightest breeze causes the leaves shimmer and "tremble", hence the given name. Other common names are quaking or golden aspen. Has a striking yellow fall color.
Recommended for soil retention, naturalization and screening. Having a fast growth rate makes it a shorter lived species with low durability, therefore not ideal as a street or specimen tree.
