Pinus strobus - White Pine
Product Details
The windblown white pine, depicted gracefully in artwork by the Group of Seven, is an iconic symbol of the Canadian landscape. Broadly pyramidal form with open branching and smooth bark. Long, narrow, soft green needles occur in bundles of five. Prefers medium, well-drained soil in full sun. Excellent tree for lawns, windbreaks and screens. Being a coniferous tree it retains it's needles and provides winter interest. Has a rapid rate of growth with a long lifespan. Moderately intolerant of road salt and air pollution.
