Sensitive fern has a gentle chartreuse coloration with moderately course, large leaves. Can handle clay soils but requires consistent moisture. Grows well in part to full shade in moist garden soil. Deer and rabbit resistant. The name, sensitive fern, is given because of this species tendency to have it's foliage die-back with the first frost.
