Narrow, pinnafied olive to dark green leaves have similar visual characteristics to fern foliage. An adaptable plant that can tolerate dry soil all the way to moderately wet conditions. Prefers sandy loam but will grow in poor, gravelly soil. Once established it will spread to form pleasant colonies and is often among the first species to populate barren, nutrient poor soils. Ideal for poor soil spaces like alleys or medians and also naturalization for slopes and embankments.
