A native perennial vine! Produces an abundance of white flowers that last for about a month. Prefers partial sun with moist soil conditions. Does tend to climb and, aside from being trained to a traditional trellis or obelisk, will use sturdy perennials or shrubs for support as a natural trellis. This trait adds spontaneous appeal to a wild garden, as the clematis will fill in gaps and spill over groupings of plants.
