Has an upright, shrubby form with large purple, lupine-like flowers. Being in the legume family the flowers give way to large, attractive seed pods later in the season. A long-lived perennial that will take a few years to establish, as it initially prioritizes the development of its root system. Makes an excellent specimen plant.
