A unique tree that is known as the largest fruit-bearing tree species native to North America. The bizarre fruit is a greenish yellow, likening in form to a slender mango, and has a sweet, banana-like flavor. Best kept in a moist area that is well-drained. The paw paw displays a bright yellow fall coloration. May struggle in cold regions of zone 5 and would benefit with protection from winter winds.
