Grey-headed Coneflower

Ratibida pinnata

Vibrant yellow flowers sway on spindly stalks during the warm summer months on this wonderful Ontario perennial. Attracts many beneficial insects, bees, and butterflies. Flower petals have a unique downward droop with central cones starting grey and turning to chocolate brown.

Spread : 1-2 feet (30-60 cm)

Blooming Period : June to August

Light : Full sun

Water : Medium

Soil : Sand, loam, clay

Zone : 3-8

Native Ontario Habitat : Dry woods, prairies and corridors

Landscape Uses : Butterfly gardens, pollinator gardens, meadows and naturalized areas
