Oenothera biennis
This upright forming bienniel is native to Ontario. The evening primrose boasts of lemon yellow flowers that are displayed on long stalks. Hence the name, the evening primrose flowers open at night and close again in the morning. Most pollination is done by nocturnal pollinators such as moths. Is a prolific self-seeding biennial that may need extra control measures to keep in a contained area.
