A beautiful species in the milkweed family. Orange flowers bloom during the summer. Drought tolerant once established. A host species for the monarch caterpillar.

Height : 2-3 feet (60-90 cm) Spread : 1-2 feet (30-60 cm)

Blooming Period : June to August

Light : Full Sun

Water : Dry to Medium

Soil : Sand, Loam

Zone : 3-9

Native Ontario Habitat : Open woods, prairies, ditches

Landscape Uses : Butterfly gardens, pollinator gardens, hummingbird gardens, prairie, restoration areas
